Lucija Rosc / Slovenia, 2024 / 24 min
Heirloom is a performative documentary film that traces the journey of the golden tooth from
grandmother to granddaughter. The act of transferring the gold becomes a symbolic gesture of passing down an heirloom, turning the tooth into a totem of sorts. By using the gold to repair her own tooth (the fifth bottom left), Lucija engages in a deeply personal yet universal act of succession.
While Heirloom serves as an homage to Mica and a celebration of her character, it also explores the fear of loss and the lingering question of what remains once a loved one is gone. It examines how a legacy can be carried forward into the future.
